DOWN AND OUT
In a season marred by a historically large and relentless pile of major injuries, the New York Mets were dealt yet another brutal blow Saturday afternoon at Citi Field in a 5-4 loss to the San Francisco Giants. Third baseman David Wright was drilled by a 94 mph fastball, directly into his head, in the fourth inning of the extra-innings affiar and lied motionless on the field for several minutes before walking into an ambulance moments later. While Wright may return in under a week, the fourth place Mets currently have an unprecedented 14 other players out for very long periods of time. Excellent Article.
