~STORY OF THE WEEK~
A LEGENDARY SUMMER UNLIKE ANY OTHER
Derek Jeter, who passed Luis Aparicio Sunday for the most hits ever for a shortstop, guided the New York Yankees to their 14th win in 17 games with 3 hits Tuesday night. The win over the Oakland Athletics was played at the Coliseum 7-2. Since the All-Star break the Yankees have won 24 of 32 games- the best post-all star record in New York Yankees history. They currently hold the best winning percentage in baseball, 30 games above .500. They are also better poised to make the postseason than any other team in the Majors.
