NEW YORK EVENS UP WORLD SERIES
SWEET DEFEAT AS BURNETT OUTPITCHES RIVAL PEDRO IN BRONX
In a direct answer to Cliff Lee's gem the night before, the Yankees tied up the 2009 World Series with the Phillies behind A.J Burnett, splitting the first two games in the city that never sleeps before the series shifts to the city of brotherly love for three. Burnett dominated the Philadelphia line-up with 8 strikeouts threw 108 pitches in 7 innings. Mariano Rivera gave up no runs while Johnny Damon and Hedeki Matsui both homered for New York. Pedro Martinez, the Yankees rival of the decade took the loss despite a masterful performance on the mound. He was heavily taunted despite a unexpectadly quiet crowd. Both teams will try to break the 1-1 series tie in Game 3 Saturday. In other news, the tracked World Series ratings have been dominant.
