YANKEES, ANGELS TO BATTLE FOR AL CHAMPIONSHIP

With respective sweeps of the Minnesota Twins and the Boston Red

Sox, the Los Angeles Angels and New York Yankees have advanced to the American League Championship Series to be broadcast nationally on FOX starting Friday. The Angels had never beaten Boston ina postseason series. The Yankees had lost three consecutive Division Series.
