KEVIN DURANT'S 40 POINTS CRUSH NETS IN JERSEY
With sly shots, monster dunks and spectacular moves, Kevin Durant helped the Thunder crush One team had yet to win three games in a row and the other had yet to win three games, period. By the end of the Thunder's 105-89 win over the Nets on Monday night at the Izod Center, it wasn't difficult to see which of the two identity-seeking teams was further along and happened to have a superstar in its grasp. Behind Kevin Durant's season-high tying 40 points, Oklahoma City notched its third straight win, while New Jersey managed to blow hard-fought leads and had its familiar fourth-quarter fade to drop its 10th straight game and fall to 2-29 overall. "He really knows how to play basketball," Nets coach Kiki Vandeweghe said of Durant. "He reminds me of George Gervin when I was playing - just a very, very difficult cover. He can win a game all by himself."
