LEE & KNICKS SURGING, HOPING TO REACH PLAYOFFS
David Lee was a free agent with no offers on the table last summer. The Detroit Pistons were spending lavishly but sent their checks elsewhere. On Tuesday, Lee visited the Palace for the first time this season and, as if on cue, did everything possible to fill the arena with regret. Lee, showing off his newfound shooting range, scored on an array of layups and jumpers for a season-high 30 points in a 104-87 rout by the Knicks. He also had 12 rebounds and 5 assists in one of his most complete games this season.
