WALK-OFF ROX MILE-HIGH HAPPY, HOTTEST TEAM IN BASEBALL
The Rockies defeated the Dodgers for another huge extra-innings win in Colorado, but lets look back on the Rockies day. Down by three runs in the bottom of the 14th inning, Ryan Spilborghs rescued his team with the first walk-off grand slam in Rockies history Tuesday morning and the story has only grown, not only the Colorado area but the baseball world, since the sensational finish to a 5 hour game at Coors Field. Facing the Dodgers Tuesday night could not come at a better time. The Rockies became serious contenders for another Western Division Championship, just three games behind the Dodgers going into their crucial sell-out matchup against LA Tuesday night. And low and behold, they found themselves in another extra-innings affair, with more heroics in the 10th from Troy Tulowitiski. His walk-off single gave them their 9th win in 11 games and put them two games out of the division. The Dodgers have a sub-.500 record in the month of August.
