YANKEES & ANGELS UP 2-0 IN ALDS
In a classic comeback for the ages Friday night at Yankee Stadium, the Minnesota Twins fell victim to the bats of Alex Rodriguez and Mark Texiteria. After A-Rod tied the game with a two-run bottom-of-the-ninth bomb into center field, New York forced extra innings. An hour later, Mark Texteria led of the bottom of the 11th inning with a walk-off long ball into the left field corner to give the Yankees a triumphant victory and 2-0 series lead. On the other side of the country, the Los Angeles Angels rocked the West Coast, joining the Dodgers with a 2-0 division series lead after defeating the Boston Red Sox 4-1 with an explosive 7th inning. The Rockies and Phillies are set to break a 1-1 series tie when they square off in front of a cold, loud and routy Denver crowd Saturday night at Coors Field.
